Fees, Insurance & FAQ

What is the fee for psychotherapy?

The standard fee for an individual psychotherapy session is $200.

Do you accept insurance?

Mind Over Mood Healing is a private-pay practice and does not participate directly with insurance plans.

Upon request, a superbill can be provided for you to submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your individual plan.

Before beginning services, you may want to ask your insurer:

  • Does my plan include out-of-network mental health benefits?
  • What is my out-of-network deductible?
  • How much will I be reimbursed for an individual psychotherapy session?
  • Is prior authorization required?
  • How do I submit a superbill?

Do you offer a sliding scale?

A limited number of sliding-scale spaces are available to qualified individuals based on financial need and availability. Please ask about current availability during your consultation.

What will Survival Pattern Healing Intensives cost?

Intensive formats and fees will be announced before enrollment opens in Fall 2026.

Because intensives are extended psychotherapy services, their cost will differ from standard individual sessions.

Psychotherapy is provided through secure telehealth to clients physically located in Florida, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.

Licensure rules are based on the client’s physical location at the time of the session.

Services are currently offered through telehealth.

No. Mind Over Mood Healing currently provides individual psychotherapy only.

The practice primarily serves adult women, including high-achieving, professional, faith-centered women and women of color who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related distress, emotional exhaustion, or persistent survival patterns.

Services are based on clinical fit and are not restricted to clients who identify with every part of this description.

No. “Survival pattern” is not a formal mental health diagnosis. It is a compassionate framework for understanding protective beliefs, behaviors, and emotional responses.

Any diagnosis used in treatment is based on an individualized clinical assessment.

No. Not every difficult pattern is created by trauma, and you do not need to identify an experience as trauma to seek support.

Therapy can help you explore how your experiences, relationships, environment, beliefs, and nervous system may be affecting your present life.

Faith can be integrated when requested and clinically appropriate. You determine whether and how your spiritual beliefs are included.

Faith integration will never be imposed, and clients of different beliefs or no religious affiliation will be treated with respect.

The consultation is an opportunity to briefly discuss what is bringing you to therapy, learn about the practice, ask questions, and determine whether working together may be a good fit.

A consultation is not a therapy session and does not establish an ongoing therapist-client relationship.

Complete the consultation request form. If services appear appropriate and space is available, you will receive information about the next steps.

No. Workshops and speaking engagements are educational services. Participation does not create a therapist-client relationship or replace individualized mental health care.

Yes. Survival Pattern Healing Intensives are clinical psychotherapy services. An assessment and appropriateness screening will be required before participation.

Mind Over Mood Healing does not provide emergency or crisis services.

If you are experiencing an immediate emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. In the United States, you may also call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

Estimate your cost

Beginning January 1, 2022, the law requires health care providers to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.  You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.   For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, see your Estimate, or visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
