I help high-achieving women recognize, interrupt, and heal the survival patterns that once protected them so they can lead, love, and live with greater freedom, authenticity, and peace.
My work centers on understanding and healing the internal wounds and protective patterns that leave women mentally depleted, emotionally exhausted, and spiritually disconnected.
Survival Pattern Healing is about interrupting wound driven patterns. And exploring the protective purpose beneath the pattern, so you can move from protection to peace.
It is doing the deep healing work that helps you to understand what your system learned, tend to the wound connected to it, and build healthier responses that reflect your present truth rather than your past pain.
The goal is not to eliminate the survival pattern because they developed in response to a wound you experienced. Your survival pattern helped you survive some challenging experiences. So instead of getting rid of them, we want to notice when they are present and intentionally choose how to respond instead of automatically reacting.
Therapy with me is collaborative, thoughtful, and grounded in emotional safety. I use evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches to help you understand the relationship between thoughts, emotions, nervous-system responses, past experiences, and current behaviors.
Survival Pattern Healing Intensives are extended psychotherapy experiences designed for clients who want focused support addressing a specific wound, trigger, belief, memory, or protective pattern.
These intensives will integrate EMDR and IFS-informed therapy to support deeper processing within a structured and personalized treatment experience.
Educational and experiential workshops that help women recognize the survival patterns influencing their thoughts, relationships, decisions, and emotional well-being.
Participants leave with language for what they have been experiencing, greater compassion for why the pattern developed, and practical tools for beginning a healthier response.
Warm, engaging, psychologically grounded, and faith-aware presentations that help audiences understand the hidden patterns shaping how they lead, relate, achieve, rest, and care for themselves.
These presentations combine clinical insight, relatable storytelling, practical strategies, and a message of truth, healing, and transformation.

For over 20 years, Dr. Cox has provided psychotherapy to clients experiencing anxiety, depression, and trauma.
And she has delivered keynotes, workshops, presentations, and professional-development experiences for conferences, churches, schools, organizations, and women’s communities.
Her distinctions include:
It addresses what shaped you, how how you learned to survive, and who you are becoming.
Healing the attachment, trauma, and emotional wounds beneath the behavior.
Recognizing and interrupting protective patterns such as perfectionism, hyper-independence, people-pleasing, and over-functioning.
Helping women reconnect with truth and become who God created them to be.
Long before I had the language for survival patterns, I was living from them.
As a child, I experienced trauma which silently taught me that I couldn’t depend on anyone else to keep me safe but myself. I learned how to be strong, responsible, accomplished, and dependable. I grew up believing that if I just kept it moving and appeared composed, then no one would take advantage of how shattered I was inside.
The more I achieved, the more I felt secure. Independence helped me feel protected. Staying strong helped me avoid acknowledging just how tired I had become.
From the outside, those patterns looked like strengths and in many ways, they were. They helped me persevere, build a meaningful career, care for the people I loved, and become the woman I needed to be during difficult seasons. But eventually, my mind and body began revealing what my accomplishments could no longer conceal, I was carrying more than I was created to hold.
My healing journey taught me that I did not need to reject the high achieving woman I had become. I needed to understand her, care for the wounds beneath her strength, and show her that she no longer had to live as though everything depended on her.
That realization became deeply personal and eventually, it became the foundation of my professional work.
Today, I do this work not only because I have studied healing, but because I understand what it means to discover the version of yourselves that everyone admires may also be the place where you have learned to hide.
